Street Stock Drivers Across the South Make Preparations for 8th Annual Street Stock Nationals at Whynot Motorsports Park

With racing on its way to returning closer to normal in 2020, Street Stock drivers across the Southeastern United States are gearing up for the 8th Annual Street Stock Nationals at Whynot Motorsports Park. This years event has proven to be the biggest yet with over 100 pre-entries in both the Street Stock division as well as the Factory/Pure Stock division.
Local and distant stars of the south are scheduled to make an appearance. Dirts4Racing Street Stocks Points Leader Brian Morgan, Runner Up Thomas Pratt, Third Runner-Up Joe Belkey, and local Rich Pratt are all preparing to take on one of the biggest Street Stock Events in the country.
This year’s event comes with a twist. Wednesday, August 12 will be a practice night for all division. Thursday night will consist of qualifying for the Street Stocks, as well as Qualifier Features. Also, on hand for the night will be the $500 to win Hot Shots and $1500 to win Crate Racin’ USA 604 Late Models. Friday night will consist of once again qualifying and qualifier features for the Street Stocks. However, if a competitor chooses this on Friday night, they will forfeit their results from Thursday. From there, Alphabet Soup Elimination Features will be run. The top 12 cars from each of the lower mains will transfer up until the top 36 finishers set the lineup for the A-Main. On tap for the evening will also be the Factory/Pure Stock Qualifying and Heat Races. Followed by the “Biggest Pit Party in the South.” Saturday Evening rings in the main event. UMP/USRA Open-Wheel Modifieds, Crate Racin’ USA 602 Late Model Sportsman will be in the house as well the completion of the Factory/Pure Stocks with their Non-Qualifiers, B-Mains and the feature event. The Factory/Pure Stocks will have a 30 car field for their A-Main event. Starting out the evening will be the Street Stock non-qualifiers, and then it’s time for the big show. Starting with a 5-wide salute to the fans and a 3-wide initial green flag start will be 36 of the baddest, and fastest Street Stocks in the South as they battle it out for $5151 and a chance at the rockin’ trophy.
This year’s event has been given 51 laps for the Street Stock in A-Main in honor of Chandler Shaw. Shaw was a well-known dirt racer through the southeast, and even had plans to race this years event. Across the flier, promoter Phillip Hathcock has given Shaw’s number (51) to everything, lap count and payouts for the Street Stock, as well as payouts to the Factory/Pure Stocks. In memory of Chandler Shaw, the Factory/Pure Stocks will join the Street Stocks in the 5-Wide Salute to the Fans.
The 8th Annual Street Stock Nationals at Whynot Motorsports Park will be an event the family remembers for a lifetime. Two huge pit parties, over 200 cars scheduled to be in attendance and hundreds of laps of racing a head, this is by far the biggest event to hit the South yet!
